
Rush Dorsett is an accomplished soprano singer who specializes in opera, chamber music and contemporary songs. She has performed in the U.S. in San Francisco, Boston, New York, and internationally in Canada, England, Austria, Italy and Spain. In her home state of North Carolina, she has performed as a soloist at Duke Chapel and with Sounds on Oberlin, and with the New Music on the Point Festival. Rush frequently performs at weddings, worship services, fundraiser benefit concerts, and corporate events. She also teaches voice and works with many singers and speakers.
She earned her undergraduate degree with honors from Washington University in St. Louis in Music and Psychology. She also trained in opera at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. After a postgraduate adventure in Colombia, South America, she won a scholarship to New England Conservatory (NEC) in Boston and obtained her Masters degree in Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy. Rush performed several lead roles on the NEC stage. Since graduating, Rush has continued to sing and record professionally, and she enjoys the collaborative process with her fellow musicians to bring beautiful and meaningful performances to listeners.
